A Fixture
I have seen hundreds of original "Sturmtruppenfotos" but have never seen one with the "Panzer".
And for sure it is more important to have fun to paint it.
Admittedly there is not much photographic footage showing Stosstruppen with trench armor. But here are some examples:
All of them are/seem to be "posed" but that refers to the majority of images from the Great War. "Selfies" in action were not feasible due to cumbersome camera equipment.
The Grabenpanzer was designed to allow quick removal
Application of camoflage seems to have happened according to this piece from a virtual Austrian museum

Its weight of 15 kg would allow a well trained man to run the distance between the trenches through the difficult terrain wearing it.
What bothers me a bit more is "another" MP 18. There is as far as I know just one picture showing a Stormtrooper displaying a Bergmann MP in 1918. It surely was extremely rare and just available within the last months of the war. In modelling you get the impression that it was a kind of standard issue to the Stormtroopers (like the knights cross to every commander of a Tiger tank in WW II)
During this final period of WWI an order of the German High command had been issued concerning the application of camo-paint to German equipment. So helmet and body armor could be done in camo...
Jeff´s figure obviously fullfills a lot of cliches but is a great model - well done and keep them coming Jeff!
Brock - best wishes for your recovery!
