Ahhhhh last but not least here is an old figure, sculpted by the very talented Phil Waldon, of John Arlow, 1st A.I.F, France 1918.
WW1 is not normally a subject that i do, but in this case and due to prompting from a good friend...thanks Greg...I painted him up, and this is the finished result. I would love to know what you all think of this one.

Cheers Andrew Judson

Hi Andy
It appear's that you have taken the head from the Kokoda (long road back) figure also done by phil don't know if its the photo but the head looks out of scale.
That said he is a great figure and hope you enjoyed painting him

Chris

The head does look big, it is the photo, Phil gave me the head as when I got this figure the head was missing and phil said you cant get it any longer.
Thanks for your comment appreciated .

Juddo, you only had to ask mate. I have a couple of the original heads.
Nice job on the figure too by the way.
Jason

Judo,mate hi!....
so he's got a big head, some men are six foot while others are five foot, and many other things about size, l think you've got the a good handle on John Arlow, good stuff..l found a few old spares not so long ago of John tucked away in a long lost box may come in handy one day A!!..;):):sneaky:....
cheers cobber..Phil..

Well, most of the regular Planeteers are well aware of what talent Phil has.
And you have done a very nice job of rendering this period; i.e. WWI. I feel
there is so much more to be done with the Great War. . . that really doesn't
have anything to do with the WWII Wehrmacht or the SS. However, I
understand that a business has to make a profit. And that means making sure
that most of the releases are of the Wehrmacht in WWII. Hopefully, as
figure modelers we will get beyond that; as there are so many periods that
rarely have any releases being produced. For one, the Napoleanics era in
Egypt, the Boor War, the Franco Prussian War, the Spanish Civil War, the
English Civil War. . . oh well, you get the idea.

The only thing that I would suggest for your presentation, is that you put
more poses, all around the figure, photos of this well done sculpting and
painting. Three photos as I see it, leave me wanting more. . .

However, well done, Congrats to both you and to Phil,

The Miami Jayhawker
