Completed KGL- 5th Ln - Sharpshooter - La Haye Sainte - 1815

Well,I've finally reached the finish post on this one,just some tidying up on the base to finish up.
Following on from the Coldstream,this has been a very interesting piece to paint,superbly sculpted by Carl Reid and cast and produced by Stuart Hale at Stormtroopers.
I won't go into the construction of the base as this was covered in earlier posts,the bust depicts a sharpshooter of the 5th line battalion KGL which fought with great distinction in the defence of La Haye Sainte for most of the day at the battle of Waterloo.
Painting was completed using acrylic undercoats and finished in oils and darkstar metallics.
Many thanks to all my friends and fellow members for your support and kind words along the way during this latest project.

Fantastic idea, superb painting. the whole thing is amazing.
Trouble is how do you top that?

Not much I can add that hasn't been said already, lovely work Brian.
Not sure what it is about the eighth photo in the sequence, although you can't see much of the figure it is very atmospheric and realistic. I find it easy to imagine the room full of smoke from the discharge of muskets.

Hi Mate yes we will be their mate the gods willing ( Car gave up the ghost on the way back from Sword and lance the gearbox went Boo) so just looking to get a new one. been looking around so should have one by the weekend fingers crossed.
