hi!
if I usually paint 3D fig, but I particularly liked this flat du to its very colourful uniform.

I do think that flats look a bit "artificial", but nevertheless I have always been fascinated by these paintings, especially the napoleonic era.
so I thought it would be a good challenge with this flat trying to achieve good highlighting with a chosen direction of light.

That is a great job. Can you identify the flat for us. Who engraved it and where it can be purchased? Thanks for whatever help you can supply.

I would love to be able to see this and comment but I can only see images that have been uploaded directly to the site here on the ship :( but I can confirm AFCFEF do some really nice figures.
Will you be doing more flats Marc? I would like to think there is another convert to the cause. :)

Roger.

@Roger
Although I think flats are complementary to "normal" figs, going to shows recently I found myself admiring flats for much longer than usual , so I probably caught a bad virus there !!! :happy:
I have been painting traditional fig for a while, but I have recently tried myself at a F.Eisenbach flat (Lannes) which I had in my grey army for ages... and I particularly enjoyed painting it , trying to understand all the importance of the direction of the light. :sneaky:
