Hi all, after losing a bit of inspiration for painting, Fernando's tutorial has helped inspire me to get the brushes wet again, thanks FeR. So I started a new project today. I'm a bit rusty with the skin tones and not sure how happy I am with these tones so some feedback would be great before I take it further. I decided I wanted it to have a little bit more of a tanned or olive skin tone than the box art, teeth are still just primer. Thanks for looking,

i think it is a great start. it's all gonna come down to your highlite colors and shadow colors.

Hi Andrew,

Great start.
If you ask advice, I'd say use some more highlights and shadows on selected places and make sure to limit their extent. I usually tend to forget that the higher the highlight, or the deeper the shadow, the more restricted should be the application for an interesting finish. FeR and Ernesto Reyes are masters at this.

And make sure to use some different colour hues for lips, teeth, eye bags and cheeks. That also adds lots of subtle interest.

But you are definitely on the right track from what I see here.

I think the face is just about done, just trying to decide on clothing colours, I was going to try
Burgundy and gold but I don't like this shade so I'll try something else.

Thanks for the comments everyone, the tunic is now green but I'm still not happy with the colour so I'll have to think of something else.
