Hello everyone,

I would like to share some pictures of my last bust - the Pegaso Lansquenet. The figure is completely painted with acrylics. I followed the boxart quite closely. The project was a way for me to try out some acrylic techniques and different textures.
Comments, remarks and critcs are welcome.

Best wishes

Mark

Very stunning,:eek:the textures and patterns on the clothing and the skin tones are outstanding, just wish I could paint in acrylics anywhere half as good as this.

At first I really thought that it was Diego's painting!!!!!!!!!! Superb to say the least!!!!

Very good, I add to others comments.

Blood on cloth is always a fiddly thing, and the age of the blood can change how it looks. Perhaps a slight touch of brown mixed with the colour you choose (magenta?)

see this thread for an example of blood seeping through cloth.

As for the rest of the figure, magnificent.

looking forward to your next one.

Cheers

Dear friends,
thanks for your kind comments and that you like the figure. It's a big compliment for me that you compare my work to Diego's orignal - I really admire his style.
For the blood, I understand that it may be too light/reddish and I will try to darken it down a little bit, although the photos are probably brighter than in reality.
I add some larger pics.

Have a nice weekend!

Mark

Mark,
I am still impressed by your painting results.

I will have to save some of these shots into my 'inspirations' folder later on.

To clarify, I think the blood may be a bit bright, perhaps exaggerated by camera. In real life, it will definitely look better!:D

I think your approach of understated blood has given you superior results; definitely, "Less is More"

Really like how you manged the intricate design work on parts of the fabric

thanks for sharing

Cheers

Hi Mark, I see the Workshop in Siena gave you more then good food and drink...;):D:D:D
