I simply can't believe my eyes. This is one serious feat of modeling that isn't seen very often. The amount of patience and discipline/insanity required to actually sit down and say "here's what I'm gonna do" and then actually do it is just incredible. My hat goes off to you sir.

Dan an amazing accomplishment to see a project of this scale to the end and also to keep it to such a high standard all the way through. There is just so much to notice with this dio that you cant take it in with one look, its like a film, everytime you see it you see something you missed the time before.

congratulations on this peice of art,

Steve(y)

As everyone else as said, this is one stunning piece of model craft. A fitting tribute of the 66th aniversary of Market Garden.
I keep going back to it,
Carl.

Stunning work with every aspect of this, many hours of pleasurable viewing, just truly stunning (y)

Cheers

First off...

let me thank all of you who have commented, I'm quite humbled. I'll try to answer those of you who have asked questions as well in a timely manner. Thanks again!

Hi Rob...

Flippin excellent old friend, this is a super dio - we yes it is a super diorama, very well done, the buildings alone must have taken forever, nice harmonisation here. Bravo. !!(y)

the buildings were actually commercial releases by Miniart and Dioramas Plus but they are pretty heavily modified.

Thanks Tony...

WOW.........

Dan, that's an incredible feat of modelling. Every aspect of it seems lifted straight from the pages of history (or A Bridge Too Far). The details are incredible.

How long did it take you to complete this diorama?

All I can say is Bravo.

the whole scene took about 6-7 months to complete.

Hi Mitsutaka...

Oh my god!
I can't believe the one which is being seen now.
Almost miraculous.
Dan, I'd like to pay their respects to your obsession.
I think this is the masterpiece by which only about once per several years is judged.
I congratulate completion.
By the way do you submit this work?

Mitsutaka

If you mean by submitting to magazines I have not in the past. My photo skills have always hindered me from doing that. Maybe sometime in the future.

Hello Einion...

Nice job Dan! Man that's a lot of work! I love how everything looks like it has been painted with the same care and attention (y)

On the photos, there looks like an overall colour cast from the lighting, if you'd like I can take a look at one or two of them in Photoshop and compensate for it and see if the colours are closer to how this looks in the flesh.

Einion

you can do that if you like. My lighting is not exactly the best but these look pretty close to what the piece actually looks like. Good luck.

Hi Dan! Wonderful piece of work! What else can I say that hasn't been said already. Seeing this in person will be another reason why I can't hardly wait for MMSI this year! Hopefully we will see you there. Great Job-
Scott

This is absolutely superb, I cant think of a better dio that Ive seen.

Those figures alone are fantastic but added to the buildings and groundwork, well !!!

Where are the figures from ?

Am I allowed to make one tiny teeny comment ?

The shoulder wings on the PIAT (?) Gunner look a little awkward in relation to the angle of the arm !

Very much in awe,

Andy

That's one impressive piece of work Dan!

The dio exhibits amazing attention to detail and a high and consistent quality of work.

Overall composition is excellent, with the three levels; coming from the Arnhem area I must gripe that the river bank is a bit extreme in its depiction though. The high quay wall and rocky shore you will not find in this part of the netherlands.

Nevertheless, the dio breathes the Arnhem-atmosphere and with all the details finished at such a high level it is a piece of modelling art!

And I am very envious of your discipline that allows you to finish something like this in about half a year! Man...

Cheers,
Adrian
