Thanks for the link, clrsgt, I would certainly consider the Maurice Corry figure of Lt. Col. Douglas for my next project. (Colonel Douglas led the 11th Hussars at the charge of the Light Brigade IIRC).

I've been working on the carbine and sabre for this figure

I would recommend this figure. Just working on him myself, should have an update after my enforced Christmas model making break. Goes together well with good anatomy.

The guard for the sword supplied by Le Cimier was a white metal casting which broke whilst I was shaping it. Nothing for it but to break out the silver soldering gear I haven't used for years, draw some wire to the correct size and make a new one. Here it is ready for shaping and fettling.

You have brought to life this lovely Nick Dransfield sculpt-these Le Cimier kits were very much in a field of their own 20 years ago but the likes of Mitches and Bonaparte are building a great portfolio of these larger scale figures......great for those of us with deteriorating eyesight and they are a great talking point in the display cabinet.

This is looking very good so far. I would re-iterate the recommendation to look at the MMM 150mm and 200mm figures.
