Leon and Mathilda - Leon's coat

Kamil And Pawel asked me to do the box art for Leon and Mathilda, I thought it would be a good idea to do a step by step, so that you may participate in this process.

I just painted the Leon's coat, still needs more work.

Great honour when you can painting the boxart.
For now i think you did a great job on the black. So tell us more, how you get the highlighting and shading on black.

Hey Marc, glad you like it so far.

For the black I used an entirely different formula than the one I usually use.

Base= Widsor Newton Charcoal Grey, A little Mussini warm grey and some Windsor Lamp Black.
Medium Shadows = Base + Lamp Black.
Deep Shadows = Lamp Black.
Medium highlight = Mussini Warm Grey.
High Highlights = Medium highlight + Titanium white.
