Thanks Chris! I'll see if I can make some progress on the youthful soldier this weekend and post a WIP.

ALL - I really appreciate the encouragement everybody has given me on this vignette! Just like always, my enthusiasm for the project is waning, so you guys are keeping me pumped. [Does everybody go thru this? Initially doing the research and laying a project out, putting the armature together, etc., the initial sculpting and the secondary work...all of that is OK. But when I get near the end...I always get tired of it and want to go on to the next one.]

All the best,
Dan

Gary - I really didn't intend to prod you exactly. Just kidding. But I do look forward to seeing the Great War project when you get time. Actually, I'm looking ahead also. When this is finished, I probably will start on one of the cavalry figures I've wanted to do for several months now. I think the one I'm going to start with is either the British 2nd Dragoons, Royal Scots Greys, 1914 or the Austrian Ulan, 1914. Neither one is in the pose in these illustrations.

Dan
Dan, No problem. Either figure would make a nice project. the Ulan would be very nice.~Gary

Thanks Gary! As I mentioned, I've already done armatures for all of them and I have the Austrian Ulan turning in the saddle with one hand flat on the horses' flank, the other holding the reins. I've conned Rafa into painting it for me (unsculpted and sight unseen!!) so that guarantees he'll cover up most of my sculpting mistakes! :0 How can I lose?

All the best,
Dan
