Looking for advice on creating the effect of liquid filled glass bottles for an upcoming project. I have attached an image which gives an example of the look I am thinking of. Thanks for any help you may offer.

Hi Dave, there are several types of bottles in different scales, all cast in clear plastic. To achieve the 'filled' effect I cut off the bottom with a very fine razor saw and drill out the barrel. You can fill the bottle with tinted varnish etc., and when dry re-seal with the bottom you cut off using canopy glue. Works for me and hope this gives you the help you needed.

Cheers

Thanks Ron. This sounds pretty workable. Can you recommend any particular brands or sources for 54 mm clear whiskey type bottles?

Thanks again

Thank you all, for the question and for the responses! I'm working on the same kind of issue, but for beer glasses in 54mm, also wine glasses. My thought was to do something similar, to cast them in clear resin, then drill them out and fill them, either with tinted acrylic or tinted resin. You've given me a successful proof-of-concept.

Prost!

Brad, here is a pic from Plus Models for the Beer glasses etc. These are 1/35 which is very close to 1/32 at this size.

Thanks Carl and Gary for the additional input. I feel like I have a couple of potential options now, but will most likely look into sourcing some of these nice looking 1/35 clear bottles as a priority. Should do nicely.

Thanks again.
