I think one of the things that is making it appear rectangular are the ears. In the photo the ears slope away at around a 25 degree angle and in Leigh's version they are parallel to the side of the face. Honestly, I am nit picking since I think Leigh is doing a fabulous job and I am very impressed. I think the whole little project is just a terrific idea and Quang's advice makes it even more so.

Bob you're right, the ears have been another concern, they don't stick out any where near enough, guess I have to make a few adjustments there too

Leigh, My camera suffered a catastrophic shut down, unfortunately this malady known as "system error" seems to be a very common thing with Nikon "Coolpix" (in my case "nopix") cameras. I figure what it would cost to have it repaired by the folks who made it, I'd be better off investing in a new (and working) camera and not a piece of junk. Never never be sold by just the brand name alone (shame on me). Too bad it had very good macro capabilities.

Quang, I'm taking note of your observations and seeing how they apply to my bust. I took a bit of artistic license and added a small collar to the vest, as the one in the photo looks like it might be without one.~Gary

Gary, i'm sure that there are lapels, if you look at the right braid you can just make out the point of the lapel,(i hope it is as i have no wish to carve it all back)
will post photos next week.
Bob.

Bob, I guess the lapel is not visible on the right side. I too thought for sure a portion of one was showing.~Gary
