Hi Planeteers

anyone of you knows this book and it is recommended?

Tommy's War: British Military Memorabilia, 1914-19 by Peter Doyle

I am looking mainly color photographs and images of uniforms and equipment.

Cheers

Hendryk

Hendryk, I am the someone, I have a copy lent to me by Carl Barton (housecarl), it is a very good book but it is aimed at collectors of WW1 memorabilia as its title states. That said Mr Doyle is a good author and very knowledgable, and the book does contain a lot of good colour photographs and colour illustrations. I would recommend this book as a starter on the subject, but back it up with say the Mike Chappell Osprey MAA books on the British Army in WW1 and his MAA book British Army Equipments.
I hope this helps you Hendryck
Regards
Dennis

Hendryk. Why you don´t ask in our german hz-forum???

I have the book. But in the book are not many photos of british soldiers. A very good book with many pictures from british and german soldiers is "Der Erste Weltkrieg. Das wahre Gesicht des Schreckens" from Max Arthur (Weltbild-Verlag) English Original-Title: "The faces of World War I"
