I am in the process of painting the Elan13 bust of the above character [great bust by the way, recommended!] and I have come to his medals.
I know he's fictitious, but would like to get the medals reasonably correct! Can anyone give me a logical set of medals to paint? I've tried good ol' Google, but nothing comes up thats visible to poor old eyes! Preferably colour pictures of the ribbons in particular.

I would go mainly for campaign, rather than gallantry medals. The OBE was first awarded in June 1917, the DSO in 1886 and the MC in 1915. He could have fought in the Boer war, but would have to be in his late thirties to have the Queen's and King's S.Africa medals. Not sure why he'd have the RVO.
