That's one thing I used to hate about Verlinden figures (although in fairness it wasn't exclusively a Verlinden thing): Guns cast in multiple small parts with little to no keying surface when it came to gluing, and which also made it difficult to line up the parts properly. All of which invariably made for a very fragile finished item (assuming that you could finish assembly in the first place). I remember really struggling with the Gulf War U.S. Army SAW gunner for example. This cyborg looks better than many in that respect.

and their dio bases are so much more than they use to be.

The diorama bases & buildings were great. Or at least they would have been great if they'd been cast in resin (a few were, which always begged the question, why not all of them?)

That white plaster was a recipe for disaster, the slightest chip and you'd have white specks leaping out at you that would constantly need touching up. It was quite brittle as well so broken walls etc. were commonplace. Not to mention heavy which meant that postage costs were high.

Good grief! This ‘lots of models’, are asking £190 for a 1/15 Verlinden Kübelwagen. The Tamiya Kübelwagen generally costs around £80.

I guess this gives us a clue as to future prices. As has been stated they seem to be counting on the brand name, as one of high quality which it isn’t anymore.

Mark.

I have seen some of their prices on EBay on some items and their dio bases are so much more than they use to be. Watch out for the postage costs on some of their items.......just saying. The funniest EBayer is the "simply best prices" chap, biggest joke on the net!

I don’t know though. Dragon models, is a close contender.

Yeah, they might be engaging in some wishful thinking. We'll have to see whether they actually sell their items, with prices like that.

Prost!

Actually the sale price is $179.97 US with another 20% off discount comes to $144 US or £113.26 plus free priority shipping in the US. I recently ordered a Pegaso 90mm mounted figure and an Alexandros bust, the prices were much cheaper than Histroex Agents.

I would of bought a fair few things from LOM but a lot of their prices have been a joke. Sometimes it's just the postage costs to AUS that have stopped me. I buy a bit on EBay and LOM postage costs seem way out of range compare to most other sellers so beware of postage costs before you press " buy it now". Example below...., $87.60 postage , give me a break!!!!!

I contacted Lots-of-Models and they DO have the Verlinden 120mm "Cyborg Hunter" molds. They don't known when they will cast it again though. I also asked if they can make a Weapons Set of some of the parts, but we'll see.

So some of these super-rare OOP Verlinden figures might not be super-rare anymore.

Even if they re-release the old figures, their international shipping cost is ridiculous high. They only offer free shipping in the US. Silicone molds shrink and deteriorate over the years unless new molds are made from the masters.
