I bought this same figure back then, and having started it, I shelved it as I thought the pose was a bit forced. Now I've seen your own 1999 version maybe I'll dig mine out again - it doesn't look half as bad with your excellent paint job.

Really beautifully painted, Luca!

Just the shirt by itself is a knock out. Looks very much like an old flannel cotton shirt I had when I was about 8. The only reason I remember is my parents had my picture taken in it. I still see that classic red, black, and white design in sports shirts from time to time.

Red, black and white flannel shirt, white spats, blue and white striped trousers and a red and gold hat! I certainly can't imagine myself going to war in that get up. 'Normal' for 1861, I guess.
