Thought I’d go back to WW2 for this next project I’ve had in the pipeline.
This is a resin bust 1/9th scale depicting Johnny Frost at the battle of Arnhem during operation market garden.
The bust is very well sculpted and has a good likeness to Anthony Hopkins from the film A Bridge To Far,very minimal clean up required for this piece.
I painted the piece in my usual Acrylic colours, these were from the AK set WW2 British uniform colours, once I was happy with the base coats,I set about trying to match the colours with oils, the Dennison smock was very faded on campaign,so I didn’t want any bright colours, just kept them muted with umbers and ochre colours as required.
I have quite a few para’s in my collection now,and this was a nice addition.
The bust is available from Mitches Military Models,it retails for £28.00 which is very good value.

Oh really nice and yes a young Anthony Hopkins, remember going to see this at the cinema. Nice colours on the Dennison and wear & tear on the webbing, but what I like most is how you've done the cam cream on the face, very well done.

Cheers Simon

Many thanks Simon

Lovely job Brian, I also like how you have portrayed the cam cream, not often seen on figures but when done well it makes a lot of difference to the subject.
Cheers
Steve
