Excellent service from Mick Ankim @ MicksMicks ...thanks to him

Thing is .....I'm biting my lip having to finish others before I go for it

....Bobs box art SBS is great to follow

Good view of the tunic on General Roberts VC below where the slash on the cuffs looks to be dark blue

Don't forget Nap this a B/W colourised.

Now, having sorted out my cockup, I'm back on track.
The medals have been done and just the other two awards to paint.
Next is the white piping down the jacket, the cuffs. The shoulder boards will need shading and then painting.
Now for a cuppa.

Absolutely correct Bob , thought it might be a one off for Roberts but definately not ....good point to remember ....colourised not to be relied on

Nice recovery on the red slashed cuffs , medals looks good as does the sash ...very neatly done

Are you fitting the sword as well ?

Great update looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

The sword will be painted and temporary attached, not sure where the slings should go and how attached to or under the tunic.

More progress and I can see the light and the end of the tunnel. I think the next one I paint will not have gold lace.
Next to undercoat is the sword and slings, the sling are made from masking tape and the sword knot lanyard is from 0.4mm lead wire. I have to sort the end of the sword scabard too.
I had to reglue the sling swivels as they are a bit delicate.

on pic No.4 I have no idea what is on the inside of the 'hat' but I have guessed its white silk with the hat makers name etc, that's the little dot.
Now to carry on.
Thanks for looking in.

Hi Bob

Your getting there , as for the inside of the headwear ......silk could easily be a option , there's one showing in salerooms with either a red silk and a leather brow lining , the feathers are held in by a central locking device .......your little dot

Looking forward to seeing more

Enjoy

Happy benchtime

Looks like red it is then and a tan sweat band. I don't know how you get your info but I tried to find this and got no where.
Onwards and upwards.

Just another update, bit of a fiddle to do.
Medals done and painted just the feathers to do on the bicorne.
