Hiya, Nap -
Doing Larry Brown as 1st Lieutenant in C 1/9 Cav or Captain in E 1/9 as in your photo?

Trying to get a good look at the pocket patch in question. I think Nick's version of the bust was 1LT with the 1/9 patch as above. Am I missing something?

I want to use the 2 patches on pockets , just need to rank the Stetson up to Captain .......

I had the reference for both pocket patches .....can’t find the left one 🙄

I showed Larry the 2 pocket patches with Lt rank and he was quite happy

.......what do you think ........won’t be removing a patch !

It’s this patch on his left pocket

Original

The left pocket patch can be seen in the 4th row down of pictures on the following link. A correction to the center picture information about the Jungle Fatigue shirt. That picture (later time frame) shows the top with 1st Cav Div. on the left sleeve not the 1stAvn Bdg. patch from the original picture.

Thank you Larry for coming in on this thread , it’s a real privilege and honour to be painting this piece

Do I need to change the Avn Bde patch ...if so what would been the other arm ?

Yours input has been invaluable to me 🙏

Saw this on the same website above

3rd Pattern Jungle fatigue jacket worn by then Captain Larry Brown during his tour with C 3/17. Notice the 1st Cavalry division sleve patches that reflect Larry's prior tour, despite the fact that C 3/17 was attached to the 1st Aviation brigade

UPDATE ON BUST

I’m sticking with the picture used for the sculpt ...leaving just tge “19” patch on though ...👍despite how much I wanted to put both ....that’s modelling for you ....🙂

It’s been great looking into this period for research
