Hi Carl nice idea for the base, if I could make one suggestion it would be to darken down the waistcoat slightly to give more contrast to the shirt.

A great bust and a fine paint job. Any chance you could post some more pics?

I'm not sure if they are "catch lights" or not, but there appears to be some rather large white dots in the middle of his eyes. If they are "catch lights", I think they're too big.

Looking really good Carl.
As i don't like catchlight's (in my opinion they are always wrong w.o.w. they look only right when you look forward to the figure, and giving a weard look to a figure).
The braidwork is awesome. Maybe some more contrast on the blue and the white.

Thanks for the extra shots mate, you've done a good job here, like the whole blue effect, the main supporting base may seem a little rough but I guess that's in keeping with the nautical theme. RobH.
