Yes,...different styles we have, I was curious about it ...

I like your own vision on the Major.
The wood is painted excelently on the rifle. I like the tones in his face too, in mine there is a sudden division by this grey beard, gives me something to think on...

Thanks Marc,

the woodgrain has a base of sandy acryl and a thick layer of burnt sienna with raw umber app 50-50 mix with oils. With a fairly dry and clean flat brush i then stroke the grain until i am satisfied.
After that some highlighting at the edges and a little more darkening is a few spots with a black filter.
