Here is a method I used for making a pistol for a Civil War Navy Petty Officer...
copied picture of pistol to needed size, using my HP Scanner printer,
then construction from plastic stock - Decided I would use three layers of plastic stock to make an octagon barrel. using spray adhesive I attached a copy of the picture to the plastic for a master. carved it do with exacto knife, drils bitsand files.
Used my master to create to copys (minus the Hammer, loading lever and tigger guard. Balan ce is file and knife work with a little Apoxie to built up the grips, base of loading lever and a few details.
This is a civil War era, Savage Arms Navy finger-cocking .36 cal percusssion pistol. This concept has worked with many kinda of weapons -matchlock to lazer. Neill
