Unbelieveble.
Absolutely stunning paintwork.
Wishing that i could do that.
Hope that you will do a SBS about such a painting style.
Even if i read 1, 2, and 3 backwords i cannot paint like this Natascha, only hoping that i can learn it.
Thanks for sharing.
Marc

Wow! Natascha, tell me about your paint brushes. How do you get the lines so small, straight and or curvy? What do you suggest that I practice on? Flat stock primmed? How do you get the paint to flow so steadily? Could you stand to have a 275 pound man looking over your shoulder to watch how your doing it for about 6 months? hahahaha :) I can't wait to see more. Thanks for doing what you do!

Well....I don't know about the rest of you but I think I'm in Love.

Guys, I agree with you all. She really is a stunning female :):). Now for the figure....what can you say about such painting. Just wish I had the ba.......s to paint like that!! BUT I don't like the face. Not up to the rest. One small other thing. Can anyone show me an image of the subject with the represented clothing as they are so beautifully painted here. i doubt it cause they are not exactly historically correct!! But who cares it's beautiful anyway right?

Y'know, Stephen, when you're focusing on detailing various designs the face will come last. You see this a great deal with the St. Petersburg style of painting.
And you're right that much of the 'ornamentation' doesn't fit quite right.
All in all it doesn't halt my desire to be 40 years younger, 6 inches taller, good looking, rich, single, able to speak Russian fluently and live next door to her.
But that's just me.....( Now where is Mephisto when you need him? ).

Well for me the face is really important to the miniature regardless the stunning designs. Its muchmore difficult and "artistic" to render a realistic and 3d face than to make hundreds of linear designs, that need lots of time patience and a method. for me these are two different kinds of artwork. but to have the good result , must be combined.

If you regard most of the russian painted figures they are overloaded with design, and overlook the primary principles of shading , highlighting, volume and the rest . And of course to the eyes of the middle viewer the designs cover other missing aspects. But a mediocre painted face, is always dissapointing me regardless the "jewlery" on the clothing .

But thats only my personal opinion, so.....

i would of course love to have the patience and time to paint all these intricate designs ..

Regarding the painting girl ....well ..no comments
