Beginning his Legion plaque. Also a pic of Ney's actual plaque sold at auction a few years ago. Note the two medals (Legion and Order of the Iron Crown of Lombardy) and the Order of Christ are still incomplete.

I finished NMM on is epaulettes this morning. After completion I decided to taint the NMM by washing all the gold embroidery on his uniform, including his epaulettes, with heavily diluted Liquitex gold acrylic ink. The shading shows through to the eye much better than the pictures indicate. I still need to add the insignia of the marshalate to the crescent of the epaulettes. Also need to complete his Legion sash and medals. A base is in the mail.

Awesome work! I had last night the great opportunity to admire this fantastic piece.
Love it!
Cheers mate.

Thanks Zeno and thanks again for troubling to teach groundwork methods to such an unruly class. I learned a lot. And it was great getting together in a small group. For those who are wondering, we have a small informal group of figure modellers in the south-western Ontario and GTA area who started out at The Sentry hobby shop (now sadly closed) and who now meet at members' homes, back alleys, under bridges or whatever. Thank you again Brian for hosting on the first storm blast day of the year. I for one had a different sort of blast.

Thanks Colin! Glad that I could help. It was a great meeting and thanks Brian for hosting it. I'm already looking forward to the next one. It was a great way to spent an afternoon.
Cheers,
Zeno

Excellent work, I'm really impressed with the detailing.
The words, Awesome, Brilliant and Stonking some to mind.:)

Any idea's what going on the bench next?

Thanks Malc....I still want to do the Alexander Dunn portrait but not right now. So I am toying with a bust of Col. Gourgaud in this light blue Officier d'Ordnance uniform or Henning Von Tresckow (think Ken Brannagh's character in Valkyrie who put the Cointreau bomb on Hitler's plane in '43).
