Knew it wouldn’t be long Mike. Great start, lovely colours on the lace and detailing on the shako cords/rosette.

Following this really closely as always great fleshwork and I do like the way you've painted the shako edging ...nice colour ....what ref are you working from for the edging

You've also removed the right hand rosette I see ....have you reworked the shoulder scales as well ?

Are those Oil pens behind ?

Hi Kev and thank you......old eagle eyes there...lol.....yes removed the other rosette...and have added shoulder straps as I found a knapsack in spares box.....the oil behind are those oilbrusher ready mixed oils which if find invaluable for small amounts of oil paint. here are a couple of references I found

Off to a good start Mike. I'll be following closely since I an beginning my kit. I removed the second cockade as well.
 
Mike, Good start to the StormTroopers Marine of the Guard. You really have done a nice job on the unusual orange( Aurore color! The contrast between the dark blue and orange is awesome.(y)Like the flesh tones as well! Thanks for sharing your work!

Hi Kev.......had no problems removing the other cockade with a sharp scalpel....always looking at other posts on this one to see the way they approach
their project....take care Mike
