Without a doubt this is the best version of this bust I have seen. Fantastic paint job. I have never cared for this bust until now.

Thanks for the kind comments. I particularly appreciate the comments that drew conparison to period portraits as that is the precise look I am going for. I love period portraiture, especially of high ranking military personalities. That's the reason I don't use any metallic paints for metals or lace. It would destroy the portrait look.

On my to do list - Alexandros' already released alexander, Berthier and Nelson, the soon to be released Junot, and Life Miniatures' Rommel.

Hi Colin

This is one of the best versions if not the best I have seen ...amazing lifelike and excelkent work in all areas ...

The non metallics are wonderful to see

Again thanks for sharing this and the 4 together ...great display that shows how good these actually are

Looking forward to seeing the others when you can

Beautiful paintjob, may I ask what colours do you use for the gold? I looks very natural :)

Cheers Brian

Brian - here are the colours I used for the gold lace etc, generally applied darkets to lightest, except the sepia ink which was washed in diluted at various stages. These are high viscosity artists' acrylics from the local art store but any brand will do.

Thank you very much Colin. I have most of the colours, only missing the yellow oxide, but that is easy to solve :)
I will for sure give it a try, next time I have to paint gold lace.

Cheers Brian
