Ok, here is the next figure, the Old Glory standard bearer. On to figure three...
FYI, Flag preparation:
+ I scanned the kit provided flag into my PC.
+ Using Microsoft Paint, I then reduced the size a bit and changed the number of stars to 37 with MS Paint - Select, copy and paste.
+ I then printed it out on normal typing paper and cut it out.
+ Using a product called Mod Podge (Matte) (available on Amazon and at art supply stores) that has the consistency of White Glue but dries perfectly flat, I wrapped the flag around the staff and glued it together.
+ I then coated both sides of the flag with Mod Podge.
+ When dry to the touch, the paper flag is almost like stiff cloth and can be bent into different positions. For the most part it will hold the position permanently as it fully dries. As I wanted it tightly draped, I used some additional Mod Podge to glue some of the folds together in the position I wanted.
As an additional note, I use this Mod Podge Matte on all my groundwork to add static grass, grass tufts, sand, rocks etc. Just brush it on with an old brush and drop grass, sand on it. Because it dries totally flat it becomes invisible.
And No, I don't get a sales commission from manufacturers of Mod Podge.
Cheers,
Ken
