Hello friends,
I´ve finished my new figure diorama. The figures are from Master Box and
the heads are from Hornet.
I hope you like it.
Regards, Günther

Excellent! I like that every figure is not the same height or "shape". Nice simple groundwork and a good scene and story.

A small quibble...given the scene of action is the Somme, probably all of the figures should be a mud-spattered and smeared.

All the best,
Dan

Very atmospheric indeed.

You could weather the models I do agree but muddy?
Why?
Most of the Southern salient was dry on the 1st of July to my understanding.
Not everywhere dripped with mud in the summer and it was dry through some of the August assaults too.
Also whilst the ground is very heavy clay in parts there is a wide area with chalk and flint in abundance all across the area from Thiepval down through Beaument Hamel to Pozieres and Ovilliers.
I would just dust their feet to match the track. And perhaps some off-white pebbles because that chalk sticks up in real big lumps even today.
I really like this.....a lot.

Paul.

I would second the view that Somme does not equal mud. July 1 was one of the best days of the summer. While the weather varied through the remainder of the summer, it wasn't Passchendaele. I would dust with dry dirt and maybe possibly some chalk dust.

These are beautifully painted and composed models. Not a big fan of those Brodie helmets though. I assume they are the original Manufacturer's and not Hornet's?
