Hi All,
Have finally finished this bust of the legendary Medusa. From the last post I have added some more shadowing to give a darker feel, especially around the snakes, and painted all the eyes (must be around 80 or so eyes all up), I also added some tounges to a few of the snakes. On the main elevated snake, I added two sharp fangs and some drool/saliva to the mouth for effect.
I was also going to alter the base for a more crumbly look but ended up just using the basic kit one and just adding the brass rod for height.
Hope you all like her and would love to hear your comments.
Regards,
Ben

Ben, a superb finish on such a neat sculpt and great work with the addittional effects, can't imagine that snake not having fangs now. (y)

Cheers Ken

Thanks Steve, Kenneth and Andrew, glad you like the finished piece. Hi Ken, thanks for that mate, the fangs made the snake I reckon, I actually used some thorns off a rose bush to make them, so they are nice and sharp, perfect shape too.

Nice work Ben! I really like her creamy/greenish skin tones, the purple of her shirt (?) works well as a compliment to that. The patterns and colors on the the snakes are just fantastic. The fangs and saliva on the top one do improve it and make it more intimidating! Fun piece!

Wow, that's fantastic work.

The only thing that would make it even better IMHO would be if it were a full figure

Awesome painting Ben. For me the bust rests or falls on the eyes, and I must say you have absolutely nailed them. They couldn't have been easy to paint, but you've captured the look perfectly. She's sexy and seductive but also deadly and dreadful.

Great work mate.

I have this gorgeous nugget ready to paint also. You have given a great "box art" to start with. Excellent work sir.

Very impressive painting! 80 eyes, holy cow! Just saw my first copperhead of the year in the back yard last night. Very very pretty animals and your snakes come quite close to the real thing.
