Very impressive work,compliments!

Hi Sabrina,
Thank you very much for looking in.
cheers
Richie

Hi All,
Here is how it stands so far.
I altered Coghill's boots, removed all the mould line I hope, started to sculpt the patrol jacket and lacing. Scalloped out the hooves on the nag and added some more tack.
On Melvill I have started to remove some of the mould lines and fixed the leg positions. Scalloped out the hooves on the nag and added some more tack, I have also done the furled colours and filled the horse gaps.

Still a lot to do and with some of the fine work and needing to let it dry before I trash it with my fingers, I will do some sculpting tomorrow and lay down some colour on the base.
cheers

Richie

What to say except WOW!! .....that's a great idea , great modelling and your specialist area of knowledge

Like the composition and positioning of the horses over the base

This will be a very special piece

I for one am enjoying the conversion V Bench's that are being shared by Ken and Msrcus and now your good self

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Late to the party with this, sorry Richie ,but I LOVE it!
Right up my street, full of extreme action- I was also reminded of Bill Horan's work as well as Frederick Remington paintings.
What have you used for the sun helmets, being 1/35 scale rather than 54mm?

This is looking fantastic, really dynamic! I look forward to seeing it progress.
Scotty.

Hi Scotty,
Thank you mate, managed to get a bit more done today.

Hi All,
Done a bit more work on the jackets, added stripes to the trousers and cleaned up the seam lines on Melvill, also altered his boots and started to work on both saddles.
I have also started work on the base whilst the putty is drying. I will have a look at the base tomorrow with fresh eyes and see what needs adjusting.
cheers

Hi Nap,
I have used "putty" as a generic type term. I have done sculpting so far with Milliput, Greenstuff and Magic Sculpt, sorry for causing confusion.:)

Hi All,
I've managed to get the horse's and both figures done and undercoated. May need to tidy up the saddle's.
I still have some work to do - stirrups, reins, halter's and swords on both. I need to sort out a pistol for Melville and on Coghill I need to try and add some more fine detail on the jacket. I basically have toggle buttons, trefoil sleeve knots and the loop on the upper part of the jacket. I have done the bottom part and the loops on the front then run out of swear words.

It's looking great Richie. You're on a right roll, don't be getting sculptors burnout.

Hi Roger,
Thank you mate, I don't think I'm at burnout, I'm just not used to working in 1:35 and it's mighty fiddley. It's trying to put loops on in putty that are only a couple of millimetres in size. Saying that it has been enjoyable and rewarding and I can't wait to start painting the horses.
cheers
