I am researching Mexican cavalry uniforms 1845-48, and cannot locate information concerning the dress of buglers. The uniform I refer to is the standardized dark blue/sky blue that replaced many of the Napoleonic styles worn prior to '45. I suspect I am out of luck as I have quite a library of reference for this subject including Hefter, Steffens, Chartrand, and the Company plates on Uniforms in North America, and find zippo. On the other hand, someone may know of a source I have overlooked. Help? Thanks-Steve

Although I do not have it, and you may already, I was impressed with the Mexican American War 1846-48 by Ron Field, Illustrations by Richard Hook. I have some others in this series (Brassey's History of Uniforms) and I believe this was one of the better ones with a lot of uniform information and detail. It is readily available on Amazon and other places.
