Some new things to announce with regards to the Michigan Historical Collectibles Show/Michigan Historical Miniatures Club Painting Exhibition (aka "the January Show" around these parts).
First, the Detroit area show is now in November. November 20-21 to be specific. (MUCH better for travelling!) Second, in trying out something new, rather than a judged contest, the Michigan Historical Miniatures Club is hosting an exhibition. So there is no fee to show your figures. There will be two awards given: Best of Show (as voted by the participants) and People's Choice (as voted by show attenders at large). So it's all about checking out each others' work and shooting the breeze rather than competition. Just bring your stuff to display and have some fun.

There will be a show also April 2-3 in which the club will display the various versions of the club figure for the year that everyone paints up.
