The subtitle of this one is "A professional and his tools". Again 1/16th scale and a work in progress.

This is based on some superb photos sent me by a re-enactor group, The Old Contemptibles. I wish to thank both TOC and my friend, Roger Newsome, who introduced me to them.

TOC sent me several photos - views from every side actually! I'll just show you one of them and then the photos of the figure.

I've used a rifle from D. J. Parkin, removing the bolt and drilling the chamber and "business end" and inserting dental floss that looks like the cleaning cloth or whatever it is. Everything else you can blame on me.

Since these photos were taken, I've gone back and added a bit more to the torso above and below the belt.

On the head, it looks a bit like the eyes are closed from these photos, but actually it works because he's looking down. I may open the eye lids a bit more.

Lots more to do on both figures!!

Critique and comment welcome!

All the best,
Dan

Hello Dan,

Interesting stuff, your WWI models. If I may suggest, the left leg above the knee should be lengthened.
Looking at the two pics front and back, the right lower leg appears to have been lengthened in the back pic? In that case, you may also wish to lengthen the leg leg accordingly.

Dan,
This wil make a lovely figure a great choice of pose.
I agree with Blaster about the leg, he also looks abit thin above the belt. I realise that some of this will be lost with the addition of the pockets but as he's leaning forward the cloth would start to over lap the belt.

I look forward to seeing more of this.

Roger, Stephen, Esteban, Robert, Tony and Matthew - Many thanks for your comments and critique fellas!! Very helpful! I plan to section and lengthen the shorter leg. After the photos were taken, I went back and thickened the bit above and below the belt and may add more after the pockets are added. Lots more to do!

All the best,
Dan
