Nice opportunity to finally get back into painting & now working on boxart for 75mm ModelCellar French Officer. He will eventually join his Colonial Poilu in trench scene which is supplied with the figure kit. Also experimenting with ScaleColour Acrylic Flesh set & pleased with tones so far. Early days ...

Nice fleshwork, Mike!
Cheers Chris good to be getting brushes wet again.
Another cracking job Mike, he looks like he's feeling the cold! I look forward to seeing the rest. Scotty.
Hi Scotty Ta mate!
He’ll be cold alright, wet, muddy trench & kit to come.
Excellent start

Grazie amico mio Fabrizio

Hi Mike
Great to see you painting on a nice figure ...face looks good , look forward to seeing the rest especially textures
Following with interest. Happy benchtime. Nap,
Thanks Nap. Always fun starting a new project, fair bit to do around this face before I head into his helmet & scarf this weekend. They are a cracking pair!
I can't believe the detail you've got into those eyes at this scale- astonishing!
Appreciated MW - you never know what others will see in your work until you share it. Nice to know his eyes are showing his character. Lots of time spent on them.
Oh yes! I love your technique Mike.
Kind of you to comment Peter.
Your various busts have been real inspiration over last few months as circumstances kept me away from brushes. Keep ‘em coming mate!

Great start, very expressive face.
How to paint a face at the highest level.
Mike top level! (y)
Grazie Maurizio - lot of fun & he’s called “Maurice”!
Here’s a little further work in other photo which didn’t attach properly above.
And yes he still need eyebrows & ears done.
Wonderful to see you’re back in action too my friend.

Good to see you creating such character in your faces again! I still can't understand how you do it?!
Andy
Thank you Andy, good to be back into it & Greg has created really neat personal in both these little guys.
Hi Mike, great start, liking the flesh tones mate.:)
Regards,
John.
Good to hear you like new tones John.
Have supplemented ScaleColour set with a JoSonja Blue as necessary I feel for beard shadow.
Great start, will follow it on planet & FB !
Thanks Luc, your Avatar photo is a key reference to get atmosphere of era.
Note unfortunately cannot share too many InProgress shots as have to reserve these for my book. But will share completed fellows here for sure.

Great first name:D
Is a very realistic face without a shadow of a doubt. I am very curious to see how the work goes on.
