Superb art work Mike I do love the way you put the tones together , what I very much like is the fact this is how you paint for you not for the camera if that makes sense . It was very prominent at Euro a few years back to paint in a very photgrafic way it never appealed to me but it supposedly looked good in a pic , yours is natural and more importantly your tonal work is seamless
Looking forward to seeing more
Regards Chris
Thanks Chris for kind comments here.
You are right I just paint as I see & photos help guide me for areas to correct.
I continue to strive for "natural" so pleasing to hear this looks effective to you.

To Marc, Keith, ChrisR, Anto, Gordon, John, Bob, Joe, Tony, Scott, ClSgt, Guy, Carl & Ken.
Thank you to each of you for taking time to comment.
It spurs me on to next project which will now be 3rd Tommy's Bust MG Trooper, NZMR.
May not do SBS shots though as got a lot of work coming up.
If I do will be sure to share here :)

Amazing work Mike.
Marc

Keith
Stunning work Mike. Such realism in your painting - amazing stuff.
Chris
Wow
Simply amazing. Fantastic transformation.
Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great stuff Mike.
Gordon
Great work, I like the campaign look. Very nicely done the eyes are particularly well painted.
Excellent.....John.
Awesome, love the textured painting. These get better and better.
It's hard to remember how small this bust is! I have a 'pet hatred' of enlarged photos, which blow up all the gremlins in a model, but your work is so precise that it copes with this magnification easily!! Amazing work Mike.
Andy B
Hi Andy, yes he is only small, about thumb height.
I don't use photos for gimmick, just to test my own approach. Correcting as I go.
Original images were to dark so have lightened them up to better see colour.
Thanks mate, look forward to doing your little fellow one day too :)
:wideyed: Damn! How you do dat ?
Joe
wow, your work just gets better and better(y)
tony
Wow, that is just amazing paint work. Beautifully done!
Scott

Well done Mike !
Yummy Mike.(y)
Mike
What's not to like ...precision painting in all areas , I really like the fleshtones .....might have added a medal ribbon though!..lol
Thanks for sharing
Nap
Ta Kev! Actually removed the medal ribbon, original research suggested this would have not been correct for this type of officer to have served in South Africa.
Brilliant effects.
Cheers Ken
