i've done the roman and started the french guardsman but ditched it found them a poor fit they needed a lot of work to make them decent time and effort needed my advice send a bit more and buy resin figures

Simon, like Steve J says, I think it would depend on what you are prepared to do to them - they do need time spending on them to bring them up to resin/white metal standard, so I wouldn't recommend them if you just wanted to stick them together, then paint . For conversion purposes, though, they are ideal as a donor figure (and cheap!)
Richie - thanks for the compliment! I've still not got round to throwing paint on this one, yet!

I know we are all waiting;)

They'r pretty hit and miss some times you get a good one and then another one can be awful , it all depends what you are trying to do with them . I bought the 3 kits of the Greeks using the different parts to convert into 2 figures . Two of the kits were fine but the third was pretty poor . I think the mounted figure kits are generally fine . At the end off the day they are not expensive kits , you can still find the 120 mm mounted kits for £20.00 so why not play about with one or two ?

Simon again I agree with the others, I'm actually building the Roman Legionnaire as we speak, quality not great but if you want a challenge then maybe give one a shot.
The detail isn't brill but if it's for personal collection it may well be suffice.
Lots of seems to fill which is the biggest problem, and then the sanding and general buffing. If your a good painter then you can make them half decent. I have the Hoplite too which was one of my first figures, good for practice and experimentation and you wouldn't be upset if you made a hash of it because there cheap.
Resin though every time!
