Hi!

I'm thinking to visit Barcelona in few months and was planning to visit hobby shops which sell miniatures. Since Spain contains so many companies which produce great minis, paints and so on I think there should be many of those. Does anyone know good, big shops?
Thanks!

Not a big shop, but a nice one is here:

Miniaturismo Militar Jordi Rubio

Avinguda Gaudí, 56, 08025 Barcelona

Close to one of the main sites, the Sagrada Familia.

Have fun.

Unfortunately, no big shops in Barcelona. The two already posted are the only ones I know of which sell historical miniatures. As I am not a fantasy figures fan, I do not know of shops which sell that kind of stuff (if any). Jordi Rubio is more armour-oriented, but you can find there some 1/35th figures (Alpine, Tank, Verlinden, etc) and the odd Andrea offering.

Samarkanda is almost exclusively devoted to figures, with a good selection (some fantasy ones included). Check their opening hours beforehand.

If you have the time, you might want to travel to Girona, 100 kms away. You can find Art Girona there, a really good shop. They not only sell their own production, but that from lots of manufacturers. Do ask to be let into their workshop, there is were they keep most of their stock, and you can watch and handle some masters and one-of-a-kind figures.

I've been to Jordi Rubio's shop, and it was full
of goodies!:)

Make sure to have some arroz negro with sparkling white wine
while you are there!

There are some shops listed on Pegaso's website but stragely some do not have names but do have a contact number.

Stragely too, Andrea says to check their "store finder" on their website but I cannot find that link. You could try writing to them. My guess is their goods should be in most figure stores in Spain.

Hi, all!
Jordi Rubio is no longer there. They moved to a bigger place not to far away to Corcega street, number 625:

Samarkanda is a small but complete shop that you shouldn't miss:

Also, you can visit Area51 distribuciones. It's owner, Ignacio, has no shop, but you can contact him to visit his warehouse:

Another good shop, if you are into wargames, is Plan B, in the beautiful area of Gracia:

And you can't miss the shops surrounding the area of Arc de Triumf. Comics, books, figures, more miniatures, Warhammer, roleplaying stuff, collectibles, manga and all kind of stuff. They stock material both in english and in spanish:

If you have time after all that, you can still get the train and go to Girona (fantastic city, 1 hour and a half from Barcelona) and visit Art Girona. They have a shop and the workshop. Apart from a very big catalogue of many companies, you can see their impressive collection (miniatures made by Latorre, Pepe Gallardo, José Hernandez, Diego Fernández Fortes, Jesús Gamarra, Román Navarro, Luis Esteban Laguardia, Juan Carlos Ávila and even some of Bill Horan, Mike Blank or Gianfranco Speranza between many others).

I think that this is all. If you have any question about addreses or any other thing ragarding Barcelona, just send me a message ;).

Regards
FeR

Thanks guys. I think Samarkanda is the place. they have a couple of busts i want. Only open in the evenings, but that suits me fine. I am not planning to sweat it out mid day in the City anyway.
