Ok, Extracted a digit, and got some more time on the bench.

After pre coating the insides of the jacket, I then painted the inner surfaces, because of all those curves,I wouldn't be able to get a paint brush in there....

There are some gaps where the resin has shrunk. Rather then sanding, fiddling and adjusting ad infinitum, I decided I would man up, and glue the two jacket halves together.

The fit to the shoulder interior is splendid - there is just a gap on the centre seam from collar to waist line.

And there is a gap, where the single jacket button is straining to keep her jacket closed.

So after I glued the jacket on, and left the epoxy resin to cure overnight, I grabbed some two part putty, and applied to the gaps.

Before I did that, I worked out and order of putting her hair on her head - best order seems to be rear half, front half, then collar.

And notice how perfectly focused my fingers and the work mat is, while the figure is blurry! Time to upgrade the old camera, me thinks!

Cheers

PS - yes, I do see what the rubber band looks like; the one that was holding the jacket halves together while the epoxy was curing. Its just that pegs kept slipping off all the curved surfaces..... honest

Mmmmmmmm...a redhead, aghlghlghlghlghlghlghlghlglhl!

Excellent progress, Jamie! I love the expression you've given her.

Now, when you finish, will you use any kind of a matte for her stockings, or leave them glossy? The painting example that comes with the kit shows them a little too glossy, I think. There should be a sheen, but not too glossy, I think. I've got some anime kits in the stash, and achieving just the right look on the legs is something I'm apprehensive about.

Prost!

Good to see you back on it Jamie and hope you washed that digit after extraction :D

Looking very nice so far mate and looks a nice kit by the looks of things.

All the best mate

Steve

Thanks guys...

Brad, seeing as the I am leaving the rest of the figure in flat tones, I'll leave the stockings with the sheen left by applying the Humbrol Smoke.

The high heel shoes I have done in a high gloss. The flesh tones are deliberately "flat", compared to what would be done for a more true to life colour figure.

The figure is based on a cartoon image, so I have kept the colour scheme simple, and really subdued the flesh high lights and shadows.

So, I have left the stockings with a sheen to add visual interest/ a strong focal point.

However, when you do your figures with stockings, there is no reason why you couldn't tone the sheen down. Just light coats of Satin, or perhaps a satin/ matt coat mix?

Steve,
thanks for the kind words, it is a good kit, lots of parts for such a simple idea - Lady in miniskirt & tight blouse sits on a chair, legs crossed at the knees.

Still, as a resin kit, it has been one of the most challenging paint ups i have done to date, particularly with doing the stocking shades!

And Yes, digit washed.....;)

Thanks Andrew!

Cheers
