Scott Primeau won Best in Show at the MMSI show for this beauty. My pic doesn't convey how cool it is.

What is the MMSI show?
As a piece of Art l am sure it wouldn't be out of place in a gallery and the artist should be congratulated.
As a historical modeller though l think with the trend towards the art/fantasy side there should be room for a Historical BOS as well as fantasy at shows.
If this was a fantasy show then l accept the BOS was probably well deserved.
I'm not trying to be controversial as there is room for both genre's and fantasy has pushed the barriers particularly in painting techniques. As l don't compete and paint in a modest way for pleasure l have no pecuniary interest in this arguement,, I do feel however that without historical modelling being recognised then there is a danger of a split between the two communities.
Am l alone in these concerns

It's the Military Miniatures Society of Illinois, Shep Paine's old club. Their annual show is colloquially referred to as "the Chicago show".
Not to be confused with another "Chicago show", the Chicago Toy Soldier Show. Both are held in Schaumburg, if I am not mistaken, not far outside Chicago proper.
