Mother of all Pirates .
After the previous 2 projects “Pirate’s Party” and “ A mermaids song “, both inspired by the concept art of Disney’s imageneer Marc Davis ,I returned to an original idea of my own .
Mother of all Pirates combines all the clichés used in the artwork of pirates.
This figure shows a rather ugly very heavy weight female pirate sitting on a cannon .
On her right arm a parret and in the other hand a bottle of rum .When I sculp my own figurines , I love to use realistic dimensions . Not the perfect bodyshapes , widely used in sculpting art , but the real asymmetric look of a real human body .Maybe it’s because of my professional background ( radiology and human anatomy) , I can ensure you that the majority of humans are no centerfolds.
But back to the figure : I used an old kit from Beneito models for the cannon .
The sculpting is done using apoxie sculpt for the overall dimension of the body .
Clothing was done using a mixture of green stuff and milliput .The belts are made from lead foil and insulation tape .
The dress is done using apoxie sculpt because of the volume you have to create. It was the first time a used this product . And I like it .
The head is my first attempt to sculp a face .The hands are from the spare box . The rumbottle and the crate are also from the spare box . ( original resi-cast items )
The parret is part of a kit from MB models called US Navy Waves.

Some small detailed items are from the Historex range , all made in white plastic . This French firm has a wide range of small parts .Very interesting for modelers but hard to get on fairs .
Painting will be done using Vallejo paints ( acryl) as base . The top surface will be done using Windsor and Newton oils .
