I have painted the headpiece with 3 colors of gray and given a black oil wash. I have base coated the coat red and started in the lower right blending and shading the coat.

Hey Guy, It looks fantastic, I particularly like the way you painted the red on the coat, very smoothe blending. (y)

Keep the great work.

Cheeers.

Roc. :)

Thanks Roc and Joe for your encouragement. I took a chance in using black as a shadeing color as I felt the coat would be dirty and grungy from life in the outdoors. I will highlight more to give it more contrast.

Here is the entire coat blended in enamels. My next step is to add highlights to the top of the folds.

Hey Guy!

Man, I love reds! The choice of making it red really paid off, it looks great! The pics like Joe mentioned are light years better then what you've posted before, keep it up!!

Yeah mountain main rules.
I ve come back with mine also in redish tones. Next week I hope.
Very interesting for me his cap.
Good job Guy.

Thanks guys for the encouragement. I worked on the highlights and the hat for a few hours last night. Will post some pics later today.

Thanks Joe. The underside of the hat should be more noticeable as I blended and highlighted it late last night.

Guy , even if Joe said that the pictures are the best you've taken yet they still don't the bust justice  .Well done.

Thanks Stephen, I appreciate your encouragement. I have finished with the highlighting the red coat and now begin on the sash and side pouch.

Here is the gun and sheath. I just shaded the gun cover and need to highlight it yet. The bead work pattern will be next. The fringe on the coat will be shortened and painted and attached.

Almost Anders......thanks..........the beadwork will take longer than the whole Mountain MAn did. Still have to figure out the design. I have quite a few 54's on the bench but haven't taken pictures due to the camera not doing well on that size of figure

I had 3 threads started on this Mountain Man and have completed combining them into one now.

I have also filled in the slots that the original bust came with that held the arm fringe and re-painted the area and blended the red with weathered black floquil / red. The hands and rifle were attached yesterday and the fringe epoxyed on and primed with floquil R-9 primer.

This morning I drilled the Thomas Art Base to accomodate the bust and painted the fringe with Andrea leather. I then drybrushed with enamel khaki and will dry-brush again with the khaki lightened. I have to attach the loincloth on the front and touch up here and there. The shoulders get a final dry-brush with Daylight Red floquil.
