One of my current WIP is the Pillipilli Sam Stone mountain man figure. the description refers to the lower leggings being covered by wool blanket material. There is no mention of colour of this material and the box art is not really very helpful. Any advice from anybody with more knowledge of this would be most appreciated. I would like to do something with a bit of colour to offset the buckskin browns of the figure.
 
Here's a photo I used for reference that shows a glimpse of something looking a bit like a fleece down below.

According to Mrs Helm (Virginian re-en actor) They could be virtually any colour under the sun,they had access to natural plant and animal dyes plus anything they could trade for. Some favoured really garish colours when they went into a town others preferred plain and simple.
