WOW, Love the painting and colors.
What gold are you using and what brand is it. I love this one.
Used several brands of gold, but this one is stunning.
Greetz, Rene

Hello Rene and thank you for passing by.
The gold I've use on the Fleu de Lys on the subreveste is painted with Vallejo acrylics gold, mixed with Vallejo metallic medium.
I applied few washes of deep yellow to tone down the metallic gold, I still need to go over with sepia ink for the outlining the creaces of the lilies.
As for the edges of the belt, I,ve used Vallejo brass and a dab of gold just to make it a little different from the gold on the subreveste.
The gold lace on the hat is Vallejo gold, metal medium and washed with sepia wash (Vallejo), still need to do the highlights.
Hope that helps, if not, always happy to send you more recipes.
Best regards

Hi Daniel!

I've been missing some progress... I'm catching up now ;)
You are doing fine ;) Looks a very good!!
Those Prussian blues are a nightmare... I know... one need to be very careful using them...Tip: keep the painting always
very well mixed and use a flat medium, it will keep it as it should.
Anyway, Keep on the good work!

Regards
Pedro

thanks for your kind words Pedro, unfortunately my matt medium ( Tamiya X21) dried up, so I have to go buy more this week.
Thanks for your advice, always welcome here :).
When are you going to work on a French infantry of the American Revo??, looking forward to see one from you!!!

I don't know... find me one ;) if it is in 75mm even better!!

Thanks a lot for the GOLD recipe.
I was not aware what Metallic Medium could bring to me.
I never used this.
But i'm convinced. Already in my shopping list.
Any recipes for silver.

Thanks anyway
Rene

Rene, for the silver I use Vallejo metallic grey with metallic medium.
For the highlight I use the same mix and add Vallejo silver.
Then I use black ink for outling some areas.
I hope this help.

Hello folks,
made some progress on this chap, subreveste is done (after many many re-touches) , hair and hat done (except gold trim), red uniform done but some touch ups need to be done, Pistol is done and next step is taking care of gloves, cuffs, belts, boots and sword.
this figure got more complicated and complex than I tought, bigger size and lots of lace to take care, definitely a fun figure too.

Best regards

Thanks Colin :) , it's been hard to do some painting lately, lot of hours at work and preparing to move to another house, so all my troopers are almost safely packed by now, hopefully will finish this lad before I move out.
Best regards

Stunning, it is getting better and better.
I will keep on foolow this one. Thanks for the silver recipe.
Greetz, Rene

Ok Rene, I am not the best source for metalics but for my little experience in those metallic effects I am ok with the result, perhaps you may want to send a PM to Colin ( Chaoscossack) , he does an excellent job at it and may be of great help.
All the best.
