I have painted a cuirass in resin with this stuff and it is awesome. What a great metal colors.
I build it up from black trough, stainless steel, to chromic.
Then I rubbed it till I got the shine I wanted.
After 2-3 days the shine is gone.
Anybody out there who know how to keep the shine.

Marc

Hi Marc, did you seal it after buffing?.......I have always found that laquer/alcohol based paints require sealing to keep their lustre. Effectively, the air causes them to oxidise if not sealed.

I had some varnisch on it yesterday evening after you posting, with cellulose varnish. Is hard as rock after drying.
Guess what: The whole damnn metal color came off.
So after cleaning I painted again and rubbed it. It is shining again.....
And now??????

Your gonna have to use an acrylic Clear or spray version of another, the mr metal colours are alcohol based so something like enamel thinners will remove them.....
The best results are from spraying a sealer.

I use Mr Metal as my basecoat, polish it up and expect it to go dull.
Then it's in with oilpaint stains and printers ink to pick out the highlights and shine.
Cheers
