Finally

Wew, after reading countless articles and sourcing endless references, my first figure is complete. I can't say enough about Winsor Newton oils, if you want a masterpiece, you've got to use the best.

At first I was worried about it looking a bit too cartoonish. But the more I blended, the more it started to come to life. The Kolinsky brushes are the real secret, although they don't hide an artists lack of precise skill, they sure show what he or she is made of.

Thanks Guy and the rest of you for your endless encouragement and support.

Go ahead and take your best shot, while I sit back and enjoy the final fruits of my long labours. The Guys at the club said I was never going to finish anything and, my wife, they said would end up selling everything on Ebay.

I guess now we'll see who has the last laugh!!!

That's just got to be Sponge Bob! I don't have children, and I had never even heard of Sponge Bob until recently when co-workers with kids started talking about him all the time it seemed. Now I know what he looks like. Unfortunately, I can't critque your rendition, since I've never seen the "real" Sponge Bob .

The eyes were the hardest, (aren't they always) I tried not to give it the "Pinocchio" look. What about the fleshtones? Maybe some more yellow?

Well I've got a closet full of projects I better get busy with.

Thanks

Craig
