Hi all
I'm still quite new here so I may be posting this in the wrong forum, pardon me if this is the case. I visited the Glasgow Model Fest last weekend and, though I only had an hour or so there (much to my wallets relief ) I did have a good time and managed to get the following lucky finds
I remember seeing these kits reviewed in Military Modelling Magazine years ago (more that I care to count and don't I regret giving them away ) anyway, I got these two and this kit
My interest in the Anglo Scottish Border Wars was born when I read George McDonald Fraser's Steel Bonnets a couple of years back. Models for this period seem to be few and far between and generally fairly expensive so I grabbed this with two greedy, grubby hands when I saw it on sale. I'll be building it in the New Year.
I also picked up this fellow
I was disappointed that he didn't match the picture that accompanied the package which depicted a
ECW type cavalier but no complaints as he's a Benassi sculpt. I#d be interested in getting some info on which era he does represent and also which country he may be from; anyone know?
Lastly, I had intended to be more productive, figure painting-wise, when I joined this forum but the pressure of a fiorthcoming wargaming weekend has meant that most of my efforst have been put into painting sci fi miniatures but, as a treat to myself I bought built and painted this chap
Really enjoyed building and painting him. I do think his head is a little too large but otherwise the figure is great. I may do another but with a few conversions.
Cheers,
Jim
