This is what crack addicts do, eerily parallel to figure painting. See Mike's work at planetfigure.com

LOL...What is the old modelling adage...A dropped part immediately changes to colour of the carpet. And that includes white metal too;) How about walking out your front door and forgetting you still have your Optivisor on:whistle: We are a sorry bunch!

I say beat the monster: use hard flooring. Keep the floor free from clutter and if you drop something: dim the room light and scan the floor with a torch at very small grazing angle. Any part, even tiny, will show up as a huge shadow in no time. Call it floor radar.
The monster doesn't bug me any more... :p

Cheers,
Adrian

That is exactly why I ripped out the carpet in my studio, and laid down some hardwood laminate. I could have built more than a few full figures from all the parts lost in that &%$#@ carpet!

Before I've gone to the Laminate floor i also had a carpet monster.
To beat that i, used some stocking (beneath the knee ) from the housemanager at the end of the nozzle from the vacuumcleaner (just before the dustbag).
Always find the lost part.

Marc
