Kind of curious what others do for getting nice nameplates made up for bases? I had one done up for a British 2pdr anti-tank gun a couple of years ago, and it ran me over $27. Are there places (particularly in the U.S., or easily ordered through on the web) that people go to regularly for this sort of thing?

Randy

"Name it" in the uk have a great range of typefaces, colours, borders etc. Take a look at their website. Great service and quality with realistic prices.

I usually order 5/10 at a time to amortise the postage costs.

Prices are clearly shown on the website.

I'll add my endorsement of Name It. Great people to work with, excellent products, and quick shipping!

Yup - NameIt is number one for me . Nice people, and heavily involved in the figure hobby too.

Hey Randy,

I don't know if the following solution is readily available in the US, but it worked fine for me:
In Israel there are printing and laser engraving shops in many towns and cities. I was able to design my own nameplate for a figure (using WORD or PowerPoint), email the file to the shop with size specifications, and have it laser engraved on a small plastic plate with the background color of my choosing (gold/silver/white/etc.). The entire thing cost me 20 NIS - equivalent to about 6.3$

Best,

Benny

If you are happy with computers, you can make your own for minimal cost, and no waiting.

'DEL' also gives some references for other DIY methods in the same post.

Cheers,
Andrew

I've made plaques, or labels, really, using Word. I settled on using rubber cement to attach them, through trial and error.
I made labels for my toy solder boxes, too.
The only drawback is needing to print them. I printed them out at work, but now, working from home, I'm stuck because I don't have a printer.
Prost!
