I am working on a 90mm Chassuer de Cheval and I am curious to know about the color of the pelise. I mixed my base coat according to Andrea, but it is quite dark. I just need a feel for how dark or what shade of green it should be. TIA

Hi Rocky,
I'm not sure if I have understood your question. You ask for the "pelisse", that for me is the fur edged jacket, which could be carried opened on the left arm, or closed above the waistcoat, without dressing the dolman. But the pelisse of the "Chasseurs" was scarlet red. You are speaking of shading of green...green was the dolman, the jacket underneath the pelisse. Generally the green shade of Napoleonic uniforms was rather dark. With acrylics I generally use Model Color Vallejo Black green 980 mixed with a little bit of Bronze Green 897, and lights in Deep green 970.
Best regards
Marcello

Marcello,
Thank you! My mistake, I meant the dolman and thanks for the help.

I see that your question has been addressed. If I am correct I am working on the same figure from Andrea. I have their color chart and have found some completed figures photoed in the Show galleries as a reference. I purchased the Osprey booklet that also has the coloration. If you need any further help just advise.

Hey, theseeker (a Who fan perchance?) I too am currently working on the Andrea 90mm chasseur. I'll look forward to comparing the results!

Yes, I am a huge Who fan, albeit an old Who fan! I saw the Who four times and I was always amazed with Roger running place and singing at the same time.

On a second note, the Chasseur has been relegated to the parts bin. However, a second one is on the way. It was my first white metal kit and I made too many mistakes for my liking. The second one will be much better!

I've seen them (I think) 6 times now, though only within the last 11 years - never saw the great Moon in action. That said, they're still a considerable live act, still capable of making right racket (in a good way).

Sorry to hear about the Chasseur and good luck with the 2nd attempt!

Mike

Hi guys,
Besides the napoleonic figures, I like music. I had the possibility to see many years ago the Who in concert. All magic on their instruments! Keith Moon on drums, Pete Townshend on rythm guitar, and John Entwistle on bass guitar, what a monster. Nothing in common with the technicians after him, all the jazz monsters so speedy, but John on his bass was a rumble of notes.
Good luck to al with the Andrea's Officers of Chasseurs
Best reagrds
