I have not posted updates in a while... So, here is some of the MR 100 Brit Naval Officer Zulu Wars, 1879 just to show I am painting.

All oil. Lot's of fun.

As always comments and criticisms are eagerly sought!

Thanks, Pete.

For the blue:
Acrylic base: AC Prussian Blue + bit of AC Flt Black - Dead flat.

Oil Base: Indigo (Rembrandt) + a little Tit White and Naples Yellow.
I wanted flat flat blue. The base was soaked on card board ~1 hr. After this, I added English Turpentine to fill out a bit.

Wet on Wet:
Highlight: Base + more Tit white and Naples yellow.
Shade: Indigo

Wet on dry:
High: Tit white + Naples yellow
Shade: Mars black.

After wet on wet I placed the figure in my drying box ~ 3 days to insure the blue dried flat. Interesting that after the dry box, I lost alot of the highlight crispness and depth. I will definately over high this mix next time.

He is comming along nicely Keith.........Excellent work with the blues. I have always like MR's facial expressions on alot of their kits.

Thanks very much Guy and Roc. I appreciate your input. Im glad that you like it. :)

Great work so far Keith. Like the others i really like the blue color. I also like the flesh tones. What's your mix? Keep up the good work man.

Hello Keith,

Interesting subject. My favorite time period is 18th/19th century. I agree with all above. I especially like the flesh tones. Transition is very smooth.

I think it looks great! I really like the pose.

Look forward to when it's finished!

Where do you find the company that makes that line of figures and what do they run in the way of price?

Best Wishes
Steve

Xenofon-
Thanks for the nice comments. My flesh mix is listed in the previous in process work bench thread for this figure. Any questions, let me know. I'll be glad to discuss with you.

Sean - I like many of the late 19th century myself. Several great figs that make it hard to choose.

Steve - Michael Roberts makes a line of about 6 British Victorian figs in 100 mm resin. They are ALL really nice. You can get them from MTSC. See link below.

Jason - Very Kitchener - esqe 'stache!

Johan - I learned my lesson. No more WN prussian blue!
